I've heard somewhere while ago that Andrew wanted to name his company Meaujo at the time he was making games in his JAGEx. (Java Audio + Graphics Extension). Or something.. King Vivil Talk 08:47, 19 August 2009 (UTC)
Yeah its all a bit strange, the records have show this:
- 1998: Andrew starts trading under the name Jagex and creates the jagex site.
- 2000: He buys Meaujo (492).
- Later that year: Meaujo (492) is re-named Jagex ltd.
- 2001: The Jagex site/logo is copyrighted by Jagex ltd.
Ren leader of mechscape world asked some official licensing guy who said it was quite normal for a company to do this... God knows what thats all about...
If you look at the filings for Jagex Limited, the business was incorporated under Meaujo (492) Limited on April 28, 2000.
On June 26, 2000, the name was changed to Jagex Limited.
