Undercroft is a free iPhone and iPod touch "old-school" style RPG originally developed and released in 2005 by Rake in Grass, an independant game developer. A PC version also existed, but was removed from markets as the game underwent various updates. In 2010, Jagex purchased Undercroft (gaining all rights to the game) and repackaged it as a free download.

There are at least 20 hours of gameplay in this game, including dozens of quests and side quests. There are more than 750 items and 60 different enemies.

It is the first game published by Jagex to be exclusive to the online store: every previous game was first released on FunOrb and then a new version was released for use on the App Store.
